Even a justified anger is set down before it hardens.
The fifth attribute: even when a person holds on to sin, God does not hold on to anger, and if He does, not forever. Cordovero's example is the reign of Jeroboam son of Joash, when God restored Israel's borders though the people still served the calves and had not repented; He softened His anger and waited. Likewise, even someone entitled to rebuke a friend or child should not prolong it. He cites the law of helping unload the donkey of one you rightly 'hate' for a sin you alone witnessed: let go of what is in your heart and draw him near with love.
