VIIGate II:2–4
ברוך אתהBlessing as Increase
barukh attahIn Gamatria ↗
To bless Him is to open the flow, not to flatter.
Barukh does not mean praise, as most people assume. It means increase, as in "He will bless your bread," and the Zohar speaks of drawing blessings down. The blessing is not aimed at God's own essence, which is hidden beyond every name. Even "Ein Sof" (the Infinite) names only how we grasp His powers. Every name and attribute describes Him as He joins Himself to the worlds. So "Blessed are You" asks that He increase the flow of life into the worlds, while the heart still directs every prayer to the One Master alone.
