VIGate I:21–22
לא בשמים היאNot in Heaven
lo va-shamayim hiIn Gamatria ↗
Once brought down to earth, it is no longer in heaven.
The Patriarchs kept the Torah before Sinai not as binding law but because they saw what each act repaired above. So Jacob could marry two sisters, and Amram his aunt, when their soul-roots required it. Once Moses brought the Torah down, it is "not in heaven." No sage may set aside even one rabbinic detail because of secret reasons he perceives. King Hezekiah foresaw wicked sons and so declined to marry, yet Isaiah told him he had lost his share for it (Berakhot 10a). Whoever keeps the commandments properly repairs the worlds, even without knowing their mystical meanings.
