If it ceased for one moment, all worlds would fall.

The worlds' life and light depend on proper Torah study, for God, the Torah and Israel are one: each Jewish soul is rooted in a letter of the Torah. Before Sinai the worlds trembled, and creation hung on Israel accepting the Torah (Shabbat 88a). Now they stand through those who toil in it day and night. If the world were empty of Torah study for a single moment, all the worlds would collapse at once. Even one Jew studying lishmah can uphold all of creation. So never slacken: perhaps at this very moment it rests on you alone.
