חבל נחלתוA Soul Rooted Above

ḥevel naḥalatoIn Gamatria ↗

Planted above, its heel touches earth; the worlds lean as he leans.

Each world is steered by the world above it, as a soul steers a body, all the way up to God, the soul of all. The shared root of Israel's souls stands even above the Throne: it is "the likeness of a man" upon it in Ezekiel. So man's main part is planted above. His soul hangs down like a rope ("the cord of His inheritance," Deut. 32:9) through myriad worlds, and only its "heel" enters the body. Because he both stands above all the worlds and contains them, man alone has free choice to tilt them and to rebuild what he ruined. "God is your shadow" (Ps. 121:5): the worlds move as he moves.
