לשוב אל המקוריותRising With the Branches

lashuv el ha-mekoriutIn Gamatria ↗

We rise to the source carrying all of life with us.

Return lifts a person above the world's lowness without making him a stranger to it. He raises the world and life along with him, and the very boundless drive that caused the sin becomes a living force for great good. At root, Kook says, return is a movement back to the origin, to the source of life without limits. But life's flow carries us out into spreading branches of deeds, works and embodiment, and the pull toward the source can leave us feeling weak. So as we ascend we must hold on to the practical branches and lift them too. We do not rise empty-handed but wearing many-colored garments gathered from all of life.
