IX§54, 63
שם חלון בינו לבינהThe King's Daughter
sam chalon beino le-veinahIn Gamatria ↗
One window between the palace and the bride.
R. Berechiah's parable: a king had a good and lovely daughter. He dressed, crowned and adorned her and married her to a king's son. He could not leave his own house, and he could not sit with her all day, so he set a window between them; whenever either needed the other, they met there (Psalm 45:14). In §63 the king lives in thirty-two inner chambers, each with its own path. It is not fitting to bring everyone in or to show his treasures, so he includes all the paths in the daughter and her garments. Whoever wishes to enter should look at her. He calls her sister, daughter, and mother.
