Two pillars at the threshold, and souls flying between them.
Netzach and Hod are the 'legs' of the divine form, the pillars of the sefirot. Solomon cast the Temple's two pillars to match them: Jachin on the right (Netzach) and Boaz on the left (Hod). Gikatilla reads Song of Songs 5:15, 'his legs are pillars of marble (shesh) set on sockets (adnei) of gold'. Shesh, six, points to the six sefirot of the letter vav. 'Set' hints at Yesod, and the 'sockets' are Adonai. The pillars also link the two tablets of the Written Torah to the six orders of the Mishnah. Souls fly down through these two pillars, and the capitals and networks on top stand for the higher sefirot.
