קליפת נוגהThe Glowing Shell

kelipat nogahIn Gamatria ↗

Half shadow, half glow, waiting to be turned toward the light.

Between holiness and the three wholly impure shells stands nogah ('glow'), half good and half evil. It is the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and the 'flaming sword that turned'. When nogah joins the chashmal (the radiant layer of Ezekiel's vision), it turns good. When it joins the three impure shells, it turns evil. A person's animal soul and inner body come from nogah, the 'garments of skin' that became mixed after Adam's sin. Sifting it through Torah and commandments is Israel's whole task until the Messiah. Keeping the 365 prohibitions stops the evil from clinging, and the 248 positive commandments turn that evil into good.
