Every gift spoken twice: once hard, once soft.

Bet, gimel, dalet, kaf, pe, resh and tav each have two sounds, hard and soft, a pattern of strong and weak. Their foundations are wisdom, wealth, seed, life, dominion, peace and grace. Each has an opposite: folly, poverty, desolation, death, servitude, war and ugliness. They are the six directions, with the holy palace at the center carrying them all. The Gra's text pairs them: bet with wisdom, Moon, Sunday, right eye; gimel with wealth, Mars, right ear; dalet with seed, Sun, right nostril; kaf with life, Venus, left eye; pe with dominion, Mercury, left ear; resh with peace, Saturn, left nostril; tav with grace, Jupiter, Sabbath, mouth.
