החלל הפנויThe Empty Space

he-chalal ha-panuiIn Gamatria ↗

A space emptied of God, which God still surrounds.

God created the world out of compassion. To make room for it He drew His infinite light back to the sides (tzimtzum, following the Ari's Etz Chaim), leaving an empty space where all the worlds exist. That space can only be described with two opposites. God is absent from it, or it would not be empty. Yet nothing can exist without Him. Only the future will resolve this. So there are two kinds of heresy. One comes from the shattered vessels, and it holds sparks that can answer it. The other comes from the empty space, and its questions have no answer. Israel are 'Ivrim': those who cross over such questions by faith.
