אזמרה לאלקי בעודיThe Good Point

One good point, then another, until they become a song.

Judge everyone favorably, even someone completely wicked. Look for some small good in him, a place where he is not wicked. Finding it really does move him to the side of merit, so he can return. R. Nachman reads Psalm 37:10 this way: 'a little more, and the wicked is no more.' Do the same for yourself. When you see only sin, search out one good point, then another, even if each is mixed with waste. Gathering good points out of the bad makes melodies, and then you can pray and sing again: 'I will sing to my God with my od,' the little good I still have.
