Rings for the whole world, a straight line for each soul.
'Right' and 'left' above mean only kindness and judgment. So the sefirot can be drawn as an upright figure — Keter at the top, Chokhmah right and Binah left, then Chesed, Gevurah and Tiferet, then Netzach, Hod and Yesod, and Malkhut beneath — to ask what is kindness and what judgment. They can also be drawn as concentric circles, Keter outermost and Malkhut at the center, showing how each conduct unfolds from the one around it. In the Gra's reading, the circles are general providence and the upright line individual providence.
