Seven gates of created light; a prayer climbs them one by one.

So far the book has described Atzilut, God's own conducts, called a 'world' only figuratively. Now it turns to the truly created worlds, Beriah, Yetzirah and Asiyah. Beriah has seven palaces, from the Sapphire Stone, where souls and prayers are weighed, through the palaces of Merit, Love and Will, up to the Holy of Holies, the Throne of Glory. Each was made to serve one divine conduct, and the Tabernacle's vessels mirror them. Yet creation is from nothing: nothing literally flows out of Atzilut.
