Mercy stitched into judgment draws the outline of an image.

After the breaking, MAH, mercy, joined BAN, judgment: the world of Tikkun, repair, unfolding gradually through human deeds, God's hidden will and the passing of eras. When people merit it, the mercy of the upper sefirot enters Zeir Anpin; Binah's lowest part joins as its own partzuf, Tevunah. Its lower three become inner light — 90, Tzadi; its middle three close surrounding light — 30, Lamed; its top four distant surrounding light — 40, Mem. Together they spell tzelem, image: the soul's inner Neshamah and two surrounding levels, 'in the image of God'.
