Four letters that have never once let go.

The gate stands on a Zohar passage (Va'etchanan 267b): the whole of emanation is called love, and everything stands through love — 'many waters cannot quench love.' The holy Name is built this way: the upper tip of the Yod never parts from it, Yod and Heh are never apart, the river flows from Eden in love, and the Vav is ever a bridegroom with the final Heh. Whoever loves the King is bound into that same love; this is 'You shall love the Lord your God.'
