שולחן דבר נשThe Table Above

shulchan de-var nashIn Gamatria ↗

What falls from your fingers is all the shadow gets.

The mouth that guards speech must also eat in holiness. Citing the Zohar (Terumah 154b), de Vidas teaches that there is a supernal table, like the table of the showbread, from which nourishment flows to the world. A person's table mirrors it, so one should come to it clean. Blessing over bread draws holiness onto it from the Name. The other side receives only the dregs: the 'final waters' rinsed from the fingers after the meal, never the food itself.
