The door home was built before the house.

God knew that a person made with an evil inclination could not avoid sin, so repentance is among the seven things made before the world (Pirkei de-Rabbi Eliezer). De Vidas cites the Zohar (Acharei Mot): when God wished to create man, the Torah objected that he would sin. God answered that He is not called compassionate for nothing. Before the world He created Return, and told it to stand ready at every hour to forgive and atone.
