Six days circle a hidden seventh, drinking its light.
Holiness, the opposite of the mundane, is learned from Shabbat, and 'be holy' applies to every day: each weekday should be hallowed with something of Shabbat. Drawing on the Zohar (Vayakhel), de Vidas describes Shabbat as the central point, Malkhut, from which all six days draw. On Shabbat that point rises and joins the three Patriarchs — Shabbat read as Shin and Bat, 'daughter'. Through the week the same point is hidden inside the six days, giving each its light.
