eser ashashiyotIn Gamatria ↗
The light takes no color from the glass.
Shaltiel sets a dilemma. If the sefirot act on their own, providence is taken from the Infinite. If He directs them, our prayers for healing and rain would change His will. Yehoyada answers that He directs them and does not change. Change belongs to the vessels; the Tikkunim say the changes are in the body's vessels, 'but in Him there is no change,' as in 'I the Lord have not changed.' Sunlight passing through ten panes of ten colors lights the room in their hues, while the light itself takes on no color. Prayer and mitzvot act on the sefirot. The Ari writes that prayers make no change even in Arikh Anpin. They reach Ze'ir Anpin, which fills with judgment when people sin and is set right to receive mercy when they return.
