The water is always clear at the source.
Shaltiel asks for keys to providence, since much in the world looks disordered. Yehoyada holds that nothing happens by chance and, following Cordovero, sorts providence into ten kinds. Among them: over species, not individual animals; over every person in detail; a general decree that sweeps away the not fully righteous; afflictions of love; tests; harm a person's own folly brings; and the hiding of the face. All hinge on a person's deeds, in this life or past ones. Goodness flows always, like a spring that is clear at its source and muddy at its end, and each drinks where he chooses to climb. Shaltiel thanks him and takes his leave. Yehoyada blesses him to understand the Ari's writings, and to draw direct, returning and surrounding light through his prayers.
