אילן מעולה ויקרRoots, Branches and Abraham

When the time of roots closed, one tree stood tall.
After Adam's sin, history first allowed a time for roots: until the dispersion after the Tower of Babel, a person could establish himself as a worthy root for his descendants, while righteous teachers such as Enoch, Methuselah, Shem and Eber urged people to repair themselves. At the dispersion that period closed and humanity was set into seventy nations. Abraham alone, through his deeds, was chosen as an elevated tree; its main branches reach the seventy souls who went down to Egypt and became Israel, to whom the Torah was given. The door remained open: any individual may join Abraham's tree by conversion.
