When the soul wins, it carries the body with it.

For perfection to be truly his, man must reach it by choice; were he compelled, whoever compelled him would be its owner. So he was created with a good and an evil inclination, and built of two opposites: a pure, intellectual soul and an earthly body, each pulling toward its own side. Between them there is a war. If the soul prevails, it rises and lifts the body with it; if matter is allowed to win, the body sinks and drags the soul down. Man always keeps the power to subordinate the physical to his soul.
