זמן העבודה וזמן קיבול השכרTwo Times: Work, Reward

The labor is measured; the delight has no end.
God's goodness set a limit to the striving: two periods, a time of work and a time of receiving reward. The work is bounded; the reward has no end. After Adam's sin, evil became so mixed into man and the world that neither can reach perfection in its present form. The body must die and decompose, the world be dismantled (citing Sanhedrin 97a on six thousand years), and both be rebuilt. The true reward therefore comes after the resurrection, in the renewed world, enjoyed by body and soul together: the soul, shining in proportion to its earlier labor, will purify and illuminate the body.
