שלשה לבושיםTen Powers, Three Garments
sheloshah levushimIn Gamatria ↗
The garment is higher than its wearer.
The divine soul has ten powers, mirroring the ten sefirot. Three are intellect: Chokhmah, the seed-flash of insight; Binah, which unfolds it; and Da'at, which binds the mind to the idea. Together they give birth to seven emotions, chiefly love and awe of God. The soul then wears three garments: thought, speech and action. When they are clothed in Torah and its 613 commandments, the soul is wrapped in God's own will and wisdom. The text calls Torah water, which runs down from a high place to a low one so that a mind can grasp it.
