Each filling widens the hunger, until the hunger turns.

What is our part? A lifetime's work has four divisions. First, until thirteen, the shells swell desire: whoever has a hundred wants two hundred, then four hundred. Second, from thirteen, the 'point in the heart' wakes and desire turns toward the spirit — work 'not for its own sake' that leads to 'for its own sake' if one strives. Third, work purely to give, earning the five lights of the soul, Nefesh, Ruach, Neshamah, Chayah, Yechidah. Fourth, after the resurrection, correcting the desire that returned.
