טוב ורע של קיןCain's Good and Evil
tov va-ra shel KayinIn Gamatria ↗
The first brother's light, combed out of the knot one thread at a time.
Cain was mostly evil with a little good, and his sparks sank deepest. Even so, he was the firstborn and held a nefesh of Atzilut. The good of Cain was repaired through a long line: Jethro (the inner light of that nefesh, 'Hever the Kenite separated from Cain'), Nadav and Avihu (its surrounding light), Issachar, Samuel, Hezekiah, R. Yochanan ben Zakkai and R. Akiva. Korach was the evil ruach of Cain, which is why he attacked Moses (Abel). Jethro was its good side and gave Moses his daughter and his bread.
