It waited above three heads before it could come inside one.
Every soul has a surrounding light and an inner light. A soul rising from the klippot cannot enter a body directly. It must first hover as a surrounding 'image' (tzelem) over the heads of three people of its root, one after another, and only then enter a newborn as inner light, which counts as its first life. Such a newcomer struggles hard against his inclination and feels sadness without cause, as King David did, so his sins are not weighed like other people's. Sparks of one's own root likewise surround a person, closer or farther, according to his deeds.
