נפשי אויתיך בלילהThe Night Ascent
nafshi ivitikha ba-laylahIn Gamatria ↗
At night I send one self upward; at dawn another comes down to me.
A person whose nefesh is fully repaired can avoid another lifetime. When he sleeps, his nefesh can remain above as 'feminine waters' (mayin nukvin), and in the morning his ruach alone enters him to be repaired. Later the neshamah can come the same way, until all three dwell together in one body. The verse to say at bedtime with this intention is 'My soul desires You at night; my spirit within me seeks You at dawn'. The book says some perfect tzaddikim die young because they did not know this practice and had to die so the next part could come in another body.
