שרשים וניצוצותRoots and Sparks

shorashim ve-nitzotzotIn Gamatria ↗

Not one soul returning, but a root re-sending its unfinished sparks.

There are 613 great roots. Through damage and sin they can split into as many as 600,000 small roots, and no more, and each root splits the same way into sparks. The order of division runs from Adam to the three Patriarchs, then the twelve tribes, then the seventy souls, then 600,000. Each small root has 613 inner sparks, who are the Torah scholars, surrounded by branches: householders, merchants and the unlearned. When the book says one person was reincarnated in another, it does not mean the same whole soul. It means sparks of one root that were not yet repaired came back, while repaired sparks rise to their proper level.
